This kerfuffle over contraception/abortofacients/sterilization & the Catholic Church has exposed – AGAIN – the olympic hubris of the Left.
To hear them tell it, they are not only bureaucrats, but profit/loss insurance industry experts AND Ph.D.’s in theology. The arguments they proffer in what to non-propagandized people is a SCREAMINGLY clear issue of 1st amendment religious liberty are TOTALLY tangential to the issue and UTTERLY pedantic.
First: This meme that the insurance companies won’t be crushed by the cost of offering FREE contraception to EVERY AMERICAN who wants it and it will actually inure to their benefit because of the presumed, resulting diminution in expensive births begs the question: If these rapacious, greedy insurance companies really are as they’ve been sold, DON’T YOU THINK THEY WOULD BE DOING THIS ALREADY??????
So… what? Now you’re an insurance expert AND a hack bureaucrat? Like your argument about the greedy insurance companies’ costs coming out in the wash YOU CAN’T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS. Please…
And second, but related: Now you’re a bureaucrat and a THEOLOGIAN?
WHO THE HELL ARE YOU to tell the Catholic Church – based on your vapid, stupid, COMPLETELY OFF-POINT laundry lists of stats about how many Catholics already break the church’s rules about these matters – THAT THEY ARE WRONG?
THE PLAINTIFF CLERGY ARE THE FOREMOST EXPERTS ON THEIR OWN – INFORMED – OPINONS OF WHAT THIS MEANS FOR THEIR FAITH – NOT YOU, YOU POMPOUS ASSES!

Obama’s STUPIFYING GALL
Obama for America posted this “permission slip” as a “joke” on their site; as some sort of slam on opposition to their contraception mandate.
I’m AMAZED at the UNBELIEVABLE GALL of this. THE PRESIDENT IS MOCKING people of faith who disagree with him. He’s got the Catholic Church SUING HIM to get this overturned… and he’s MOCKING them.
OH MY GOD. This guy is a soulless monster. Just when I think it’s unbelievable how bloodless he is, he ups the ante.
“Well, Now We’re Just Negotiating the Price”
UPDATE: Hah! I just clicked over to NewsBusters and see they’ve done a piece on the same subject as this one!
Remember that old joke when you ask a woman how much it would take to sleep with her, and she starts out offended then by the time she’s told she’d be paid something over a million dollars (or some high price) she’s interested? She’s then reminded that a minute ago she was offended because she didn’t want to be thought of as a slut, so she remembers herself and shifts back to protest. Undeterred, the man keeps throwing out dollar amounts higher & higher while her protests grow louder & louder, then, finally, exasperated with her reconstituted righteousness, the man silences her by saying “Well, now that we know what kind of woman you are, we’re just negotiating the price.” That’s the gist of it, though I relayed it rather ham-handedly.
Well, the left – like a memo went out – is UP IN ARMS about Rush Limbaugh building on that joke about Sandra Fluke. I heard him do it live, then just heard both Chris Matthews and Alan Colmes devoting entire segments of their show to eviscerating him for saying that there’s a name for “wanting to be paid for having sex” i.e. having someone else pay for her contraception.
I thought it was rather clever. There was no malice in his rant. He did answer his own question by saying “she” would be called a “slut.” I cringed a bit when he said that, but he was building on a theme. Now, if I were his wife, I would have said “Honey – don’t go there.” I would have said to leave the thing unsaid. He chose to cross a line from clever to crude, and for that he should get a slap on the back of the hand, but not be fired which is what the lefties are calling for.
This is particularly ironic since Matthews shares a network with Ed Shultz who just last year called Laura Ingraham – directly – and just for having an opinion – a “conservative slut.” And Colmes was just forced to apologize for making Mrs. Santorum cry – literally – because he didn’t like the way she mourned her dead son.
I’m perfectly willing to call out my own when they screw up. And I can absolutely make an argument that Rush went too far and might want to just send Ms. Fluke a note telling her that if his riff hurt her feelings he certainly meant no harm, but his inference was once removed and indirect, and not meant to describe her, as a person, but rather her assertion that it was someone else’s responsibility – financial responsibility – to pay the freight for her sexual activity. But this level of outrage? From these people? And fired?
No.

Sandra Fluke: Helicopter-Parent Poster-Child
Okay.
I was going to let this go, because I remember what it was like to be a 20-something cat in heat and too stupid to have actually survived every stupid thing I stupidly did when I was twenty-something and stupid – Just like nearly ALL people in their 20′s are.
But I just saw this UNBELIEVABLY HELPLESS MAIDEN on television again and I HAVE to vent.
Sandra Fluke, if you are not familiar with her, was the oh-so-earnest witness testifying before Congress at the behest of Nancy Pelosi about her “women” friends “suffering” “medically” “financially” and “emotionally” because they had to pay for contraception. She tells of the painful experience of one top flight law student friend who had to walk away – embarrassed and painfully humiliated – from the pharmacy counter when she was told – to her shock SHOCK – that her insurance didn’t cover her right to partay.
And that was the least pathetic, mealy-mouthed thing Sister Victimhood “If only I were non-elite & oppressed enough to go to some cheap, sh*tty school instead of the one I was FORCED to go to against my will at $60,000 per year, I could f*ck like a rabbit” had to say…
First problem: No grown “woman” worthy of the designation is that helpless.
Second problem: THIS is the caliber of grit and resourcefulness you get from TOP FLIGHT $60,000 PER YEAR GEORGETOWN law school educated lawyers? I’ll take the state school grad who had to fight and scrap to get there, thank you. I mean, PLEASE. If THIS is what rises to the level of an intractable problem for this lawyer, worthy of CONGRESSIONAL FRICKING TESTIMONY, I’d hate to see what happens if the judge denies her a motion or talks nasty to her. OH MY GOD.
Third problem: This is the grown-up version of the child of the helicopter-mom. This is a child who has looked to someone else to manage her and clean up her messes HER WHOLE LIFE.
SUCKS TO BE YOU, CUPCAKE. So if having the insurance coverage Georgetown provides is a deal breaker because it doesn’t cover nookie then YOU NEED TO MAKE A GROWN UP DECISION about your F*CKING PRIORITIES IN LIFE. A GROWN UP realizes that NOTHING IN LIFE IS PERFECT. If it’s THAT important to you to have state-paid nookie, GO TO A F*CKING STATE SCHOOL AND BRING A TOWEL.
OR KEEP YOUR LEGS SHUT.
OR FIND A GUY TO BUY HIS OWN CONDOMS.
OR GIVE UP YOUR STARBUCKS TWICE A WEEK.
OR CONSIDER THAT YOU ARE SO F*CKING LUCKY TO BE WHERE YOU ARE AND IT’S F*CKING UNSEEMLY FOR YOU TO ASK THE STATE FOR NOOKIE MONEY WHEN YOU HAVE SUFFICIENT RESOURCES – ONE WAY OR ANOTHER – TO ATTEND GEORGTOWN F*CKING LAW SCHOOL.

The simple fact that this is even remotely credible, is alarming. 2 days after Georgia’s Malihi – the judge with the mysterious past – IGNORED some VERY BASIC LAW to give Barry a pass, POOF, FIRST NUKE REACTOR IN U.S. in THIRTY YEARS approved in Georgia. Was The Georgia Secretary Of State’s Decision “Greased”?
“That thing was greased,” as they say in Chicago, referring to a political phenomenon known as “being handled before table.” Well, bloggers are asking, was it? Word now coming out reveals just two days after Secretary of State Brian Kemp gave Barack Obama the green light to appear on Georgia election ballots,, the Department of Energy awarded Kemp’s state an eye popping $8.3 billion loan guarantee to begin construction on two nuclear plants. In the face of “a shocking dissent by Nuclear Regulatory Commission CHAIRMAN Director Gregory B. Jazcko,” four other commissioners approved awarding Southern Energy the first nuclear construction licenses since 1978, just one year before the tragedy of the Three Mile Island nuclear disaster put a hold on new U.S. nuclear plant construction. No new licenses have been approved until this huge Vogtle project got its go ahead to build two new reactors near Augusta.
“Jazcko said that the approved designs did not take the lessons of Fukushima into account. I cannot support issuing this license as if Fukushima never happened,” he told other NRC members before their shocking vote to approve this estimated $14 billion project. Friends of the Earth’s climate and energy project Director Damon Moglen is vowing to challenge the validity of the newly approved license in court. “The license may be granted, but these reactors are far from a done deal,” he said. Applications for 16 other plants looking to build 25 more reactors are on file with the NRC according to CNN Money reporter Steve Hargreaves , who added, “there are two applications submitted for brand new nuclear plants – one in Levy County, FL, and another outside Gaffney, S.C.”
While other viable nuclear construction projects await approval, the Georgia project got the green light in spite of the NRC director’s vehement objection as well as “12 sizeable construction change order requests (and) long-running site-specific design and fabrication problems (which) have confounded Westinghouse and its lead contractor for more than two years.”
So on February 7, 2012, Georgia Secretary of State Kemp stated “after careful consideration of Administrative Law Judge Michael Malihi’s initial decision and all record evidence based on the criteria set forth in this process, I find that the Respondent, President Barack Obama, meets the State of Georgia’s eligibility requirements.” And a scant two days later, Obama’s DOE finds the money to award Kemp’s state a whopping $8.3 billion loan guarantee for a $14 billion nuclear project and license approvals not done in the industry in over 30 years!
One blogger said after the Malihi story, “This crap needs to end–NOW!!!” Another blogger who tipped me off about the Malihi-Nuclear decision connection mused, “The fix was in long before this challenge was ever submitted.”

The opinion piece on the “Black Book of Communism” was one of only SIX Google produced under “news” in a search for that book in quotes.
I can’t thank you and the writer enough for publishing it. It’s URGENT that we understand the EXISTENTIAL THREAT of BIG GOVERNMENT no matter WHAT “flavor” it comes in NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE INTENTIONS.
If you read the old Soviet constitutions, or even China’s today, it reads GREAT, but when you fundamentally change the relationship between the citizen and their government from one of “negative” rights – which is what we have, in short, the right to be left alone, to “positive” rights, where the gov’t gives you everything (you think) you want, PEOPLE DIE EVERY TIME. Human nature will NOT ALLOW ANY OTHER OUTCOME.
For crying out loud! We’ve seen the human rights abuses and atrocities RIGHT HERE and RECENTLY as 80 years ago when FDR rounded up the Japanese. This was the same period “eugenics” became fashionable and Hitler took notice… and what happened?
There are TOO MANY EXAMPLES of HORROR for our children to not understand – VISCERALLY – that there is a DIRECT, INVERSE relationship between the largeness of the central gov’t and the smallness of individual liberty.

Communism Has Killed Millions
In December, I wrote about the dissolution of the Soviet Union, which came – oh so appropriately – on Christmas Day in 1991. My take on the event was that it was a great blessing for the world. And so it was. The fall of global communism’s central pillar was one of the most momentous, positive and far-reaching geo-political changes in history. We’ve largely forgotten how menacing and lethal the threat of communism really was.
A number of books and articles have been published in recent years, cataloguing the staggering loss of life that can be credited to communism’s depredations worldwide. They don’t get much attention in the mainstream, but their thesis has slowly worked into the popular consciousness. Somebody even came up with a silkscreen that reads, “Communism killed 100 million people, and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.” Underneath, it has the infamous portrait of Che Guevarra, the revolutionary “people’s hero” and killer.
Gotta get me one of those.
The most well-known of these books is “The Black Book of Communism,” by French historian Stephane Courtois and several other writers. In essence, Courtois and his team detail and methodically explain their death toll estimates for the global holocaust wrought by Marxist/Leninist ideology. Here’s their list, starting with the smaller atrocities and working up. It adds up to just shy of 100 million lost souls.
10,000 killed by Communist parties not in power – i.e. revolutionaries and guerrillas and the international communist movement.
150,000 dead in Cuba (including 14,000 executions directed by leftist icon Che Guevara), Nicaragua, Chile and other Latin American countries.
1 million lost in Vietnam. These aren’t war dead, but those killed by Ho Chi Minh in the Communist north, and later in South Vietnam when the United States pulled out and the North invaded.
1 million killed in Eastern Europe, where the “iron curtain” first went up and resistance was crushed repeatedly in Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland and anywhere Soviet puppets ruled.
1.5 million destroyed in Afghanistan. The press loves to lament accidental Afghan casualties today, but Soviet troops massacred Afghans wholesale.
1.7 million wiped out in Africa by various Soviet- and Chinese-backed regimes.
2 million murdered in North Korea, in death camps and through regime-caused starva- tion.
2 million butchered in the killing fields of Cambodia at the hands of the Khmer Rough, Maoist/Communist extremists trying to turn time back to “year zero.”
20 million annihilated and intentionally starved by Bolsheviks, Marxists, Leninists and Stalinists as they set up and ruled the supposed “worker’s paradise” of the USSR.
65 million wasted in the People’s Republic of China. Like Stalin, Mao and other Chinese communists used famine as a weapon. The “Great Leap Forward” and the “Cultural Revolution” were history’s greatest atrocities, carried out by a corrupt and evil ideology.

UPDATE: Tuesday February 21st It’s good to know they’re really rolling up their sleeves over there at the White House now that the President’s Day weekend is over and Michelle is back from Aspen. I hear Michelle and the girls will be doing some volunteer work at a local… Whah? They’re not? It’s PARTY TIME AGAIN?

A truly cynical person might think that Bam explicitly told Moochelle to live as large as possible because it will incite civil unrest and help usher in Utopia.
Nah.
She doesn’t give a sh*t about Utopia or anyone else but her. That would be giving her way, way too much credit.
