If Joe’s gotta go, and Hillary’s a no-go, then Senator Diane Feinstein would be a formidable choice.
She’s pissed at Obama for the egregious, (I say treasonous) leaks over which she has oversight as a senior member of the Intelligence Committee. I believe she also sits on Foreign Relations. Even apart from her impressive credentials and her (liberal!) politics, however, she’s no intellectual slouch. She’s been a solid Democrat, solid Senator, and gracious leader. She would be an excellent choice (dammit).
It was also her house in Georgetown where the deal was done to make Hillary Secretary of State and not the VP in late 2008. It was her dining room, reportedly, where those discussions took place.
She was also a latecomer to ObamaCare and had to be dragged over the finish line. She negotiated more water for the Central Valley farmers who were drying up due to the stupid Delta Smelt.
All of this is indicative of a close relationship & a covenant of trust between Obama & the Senator. The kind of relationship where he might call her and say “If you lay off me about my treasonous leaks, I’ll put you on the ticket.”
UPDATE II – January 31, 2012: Came across this sort of all-purpose clearinghouse site for all things birther. If you want to drop into the vortex and not work for a couple of hours, knock yourself out. It’s a good jumping off point to all the big sites on the subject.
UPDATE I – January 31, 2012: The link to the transcript is below, but here’s a link to the evidence submitted to the court in support of the testimony. I defy you to look at it and believe Obama’s bullish*t nativity story. It’s pretty damning stuff.
I hate the term “birther” but everybody knows what it means, so I used it.
At bottom is a link to the official court transcript of the hearing last Thursday in Georgia; the very first time evidence supporting doubt about Obama’s fantastic nativity story was presented in open court to be adjudged on its merits. Don’t believe this bullcr*p that “thousands” of case have come before. Not true. They got tossed before a scrap of paper was put before a judge. This is the first time evidence was put before a judge, to be adjudged on the merits, not tossed PRIOR to a speck of evidence being seen because of the soft-shoe of fancy-pants lawyering. Again: this is the first time evidence has been put before a judge. It’s remarkable that nobody in the MSM gave it coverage, other than to mock it, late at night, if at all.
Also, again, for the record, I do not subscribe to the theory that the problem with Mr. Obama’s records is that he is not a “natural born citizen” due to the British citizenship of his father, nor that he was born somewhere other than in the United States. I absolutely believe he was born in Hawaii. It’s AFTER that the problem begins. My own pet theory is that he was adopted in Indonesia, thereby voiding his original cert, so the one he released is “fake but accurate” if you know what I mean – and I think you do! Links to my previous posts on the matter are here & here & here.
One can quibble with his endorsement of Newt Gingrich, and I suspect it’s motivated powerfully by the primal scream Newt brings out in all of us, for good or ill (!), but Representative West ain’t bashful about the true nature of the fight. Wow. Enjoy this clip. It’s from this past weekend, from a speech down in Florida. It’s only 2 1/2 minutes & worth it.
‘You’re fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!’
~ Barack Obama to French President Nicolas Sarkozy at the G20, about Israel’s Benjamin Netanyahu, caught by a microphone that should not have been on.
‘Have to‘? ’Have to deal‘? Sarkozy called Netanyahu a liar. That’s what Obama was responding to. The President clearly agreed, as he not only did not lift a finger to defend our strongest ally in the Middle East, he pig-piled on Sarkozy’s remark.
Wow. It’s a good thing he didn’t hear anti-semitism spewed every Sund…
Former NYC Mayor, Rudy Giuliani, today, at the Defending the American Dream Summit:
‘I believe that Barack Obama owns the Occupy Wall Street movement. It would not have happened, it would not have happened but for his class warfare. And remember, as it gets worse and worse because it’s going to get worse and worse, where it came from. Barack Obama. He praised it. He supported it. He agrees with it. He sympathizes with it. And as it gets worse and worse, I believe this will be the millstone around Barack Obama’s neck that will take his presidency down.’
From your lips to God’s ears, brother. And to that of our countrymen. Via Real Clear Politics, here.
BTW: This is the same event Herman Cain spoke at this morning where he was greeted with thundering applause & a standing ovation! When he took the stage, he joked that the teleprompter that was there wasn’t for him, he didn’t need it, and it must be ‘for somebody else’! Hah!
Where are all Barack Obama’s old girlfriends? Ever wonder? Not a SINGLE BIMBO ERUPTION. Not one woman can be found to dish bedding America’s first black President? Really? NOT ONE???????????????????? The National Enquirer tried to drum up some kind of mistress last summer, but…
Larry Sinclair claims he blew Barry in the back of a limo in Chicago in (I think it was 2006. It’s been a while since I read the book, but it was defintely post-Michelle), and that cocaine was Barry’s preferred Viagra.
This guy has the name of the hotel, the address, the limo company, receipts, witnesses who can testify they were both there at the time, on and on, and on… He’s not an Ivy league anonymous female giving Politico vague complaints of non-touching, non-naked gestures, but hey… He’s a criminal, right? Has a rap sheet a mile long. Yes, he does.
But the collateral evidence surrounding this guy’s claim is one hell of a lot more solid than the ones against Herman Cain.
UPDATE 01/29/2012: In the time since I originally posted this, I recall reading somewhere on-line that the date of the alleged limo blow job was in 1999. Which still makes him a married Obama. Guess he took that whole “party like it’s 1999″ thing seriously.

• salt • is written by mom, wife, and veteran broadcaster Annie Ashe Fields. What's with the Smooth Jazz logo? It's just where I spent the best part of my 20 year radio career. When you spend that long on the air talking to that many people, it's possible we've "met." So, if you remember "Annie Ashe" from San Francisco, Philadelphia, or The Smooth Jazz Network, that's me!
Far from having evolved, the argument for population control has morally descended into something more depraved than anything the "population control" advocates of the past might have advocated in their ignorance. […]
It might have been football Sunday, but CBS and Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan offered up slow-pitch softballs to anti-Semitic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (MN). Downplaying her guest’s “sometimes controversial” comments, Brennan asked simple questions that allowed Omar to freely make excuses. Of course, Brennan ignored Omar’s raging anti-Semitism. […]
In an appearance on Sunday’s This Week, Senator Ted Cruz (R) schooled Clinton lackey and ABC chief anchor George Stephanopoulos on the ineffectiveness of Democratic gun control legislation. In the process, Senator Cruz called out Democrats for working on plans to confiscate the firearms of law-abiding Americans. Meanwhile, Stephanopoulos was trying to get Cr […]
Overnight, one of Saudi Arabia’s oil refineries (one of the largest was in the world) was the target of drone attacks that caused the county to shut down roughly five percent of the world’s oil output. According to the U.S., the evidence pointed to Iran. But, during NBC’s Sunday Today, the network showed whose side they stood on and defended the Iranians. […]

Sports writers and sports casters are lining up to take a whack at Tim Tebow for his opposition to payola for college athletes. Several from ESPN alone took shots at him Friday. The topic flared up this week after California lawmakers unanimously passed the so-called Fair Pay to Play Act, which if signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom, will enable athletes to […]

A new report has said that the real United States national debt could be well over what politicians tell us it is. At a whopping $400 trillion, the U.S. debt would be 2,000% of GDP (gross domestic product) according to new calculations that include the federal government, state, local, financial, and so-called entitlement debt.
