For Me, not Thee, Evidently

Feb 20 2012

UPDATE: Tuesday February 21st  It’s good to know they’re really rolling up their sleeves over there at the White House now that the President’s Day weekend is over and Michelle is back from Aspen.  I hear Michelle and the girls will be doing some volunteer work at a local… Whah?  They’re not?  It’s PARTY TIME AGAIN?

Oh.

A truly cynical person might think that Bam explicitly told Moochelle to live as large as possible because it will incite civil unrest and help usher in Utopia.

Nah.

She doesn’t give a sh*t about Utopia or anyone else but her.  That would be giving her way, way too much credit.

(PHOTO REMOVED at the request of the photographer.)

And to be CRYSTAL clear:  I have NO PROBLEM with ANY First Family spending THEIR MONEY ANY DAMNED WAY THEY WANT TO.  I don’t care WHO is in the White House; especially if they have young children.  If you earned it, spend it however you want; I don’t care.  I understand there are tangential expenses being First Family and all but I don’t care.  That’s the job we pay for and we want you safe.  Fine.

But DON’T TELL ME ABOUT WHAT A SELFISH PR*CK I AM FOR WANTING TO KEEP MY OWN G*DDAMNED MONEY TO DO THE SAME G*DDAMNED THING YOU ARE DOING.

Rant over.

This is a cease and desist order relative to your use of an image in this story.

You are in violation of U.S. copyright law by using the posted picture of Michelle Obama skiing. This picture was taken by me, Chris Council, chief photographer at the Aspen Daily News. Not only are you subject to a $150,000 fine under copyright law, you didn’t even bother to properly credit the photographer and news agency. The Aspen Daily News and the Associated Press have exclusive usage rights to this image. Consider this an immediate cease and desist order, otherwise you will face criminal prosecution.

I was unaware that using the pic – when NO profit was involved – was a violation, or would generate such animus. (And I do typically give credit, as other posts clearly show. I must have missed this one.)

While you are certainly within your rights to make the request, I hardly think my stupid little blog with 10 regular readers warrants such a hostile tone. Had you asked nicely, I would still have done it. Though, again, I absolutely respect your concern over the product of your talent.

      But it is done.
