See this thing? It’s a country. Sort-of. It’s a way to flee ObAmerica. I read about this probably 4 or 5 years ago when I was just recreationally researching living on the ocean… you know, like, oceanfront property, maybe up in Maine, that kind of thing… (as blessed as we are to have a view of the ocean, I still can’t hear the waves, since we are, quite sensibly, at a safe distance from the shore, but after the children are gone, and before I die, I would really, really, really, really, like to go to sleep every night hearing the ocean…) and found this! I thought the guy was clever, but a little fringe.

I swear to you, if things keep going the way they are going, Michael & I will hang on until our fingertips are bloody just long enough to get our girls through high school (6 more years!) and if it’s STILL ObAmerica, we’ll transfer them the hell out to Switzerland to finish university and move to one of these things. Who knows, we may even leave sooner. We’d leave now, but I don’t know how to teach Kaela (my autistic child) well enough. We still need specialists for her to finish getting those three R’s packed in that beautiful brain of hers. After that, I think we can muddle through the broader subjects every well brought up young lady should know together…
I swear to God. I will NOT live in the America he envisions. No. Nope. Uh-uh. No way. Ain’t gonna do it. No way, no how. Gonna flee the jurisdiction baby! Legally if we can but illegally if our passports don’t work, the bastard. Have you seen what he’s trying to do to them? OMG! It’s such an obvious attempt to lock the door on all the wealth fleeing America I can’t believe Glenn Beck and others can’t see that. Obama may be be crazy but he’s crazy like a fox. He’s not stupid. He knows wealth is mobile. He’s knows the wealthy know that he’s coming for them and shelter is just a phone call to the private pilot or a first class ticket away… Jeezuz…
This type of community would be beautifully self-selecting. The only people who would go are those who are to smart enough not to believe in his collectivist sh*t. People far too restless to take a government check and call it a living. Dreamers, doers, adventurers. Readers. People who are producers, not takers. People who can still reason, and think, and debate with verve & discipline the great ideas of our time… Not pick and choose their bullsh*t victimhood dregs of history and wear them like a crown. People who are proud of the greatest nation on earth, warts and all.
From there, with any luck at all, we can aid in the effort to rebuild Her, but in the meantime, while Bam-Bam is busy f*cking it all up, we can do outreach and education safely, without his army of loser thugs squatting every goddamned thing we own.
