Who am I? I’m who I always was. Grew up in New England, but somehow didn’t get the accent, nor the politics. I do not drop my R’s, nor do I vote Democrat, though I confess I voted for Bill Clinton once. He was the last Democrat I ever voted for. I’m somewhat of a conservatarian, meaning I am surely conservative, but also very libertarian, in the true sense, not the stupid Marxist sense the current Libertarian Party has become. I’m a big believer in live and let live and I won’t hate you automatically if you vote Democrat. Living in New England it was impossible to avoid Democrats so if you wanted to have any friends at all, you had to be extremely ecumenical, even if they did not afford you the same courtesy.
I am married, more than thirty years, to the best guy imaginable. Kind, loving, steady, true, and funny! He also has the most stunning blue eyes π There’s nobody I’d rather spend time with than him, with the possible exception of my children and grandchildren. We have three adult daughters, Leigh, Kaela, and Coryne (the last two are fraternal twins) and two little grandchildren. I am well and truly blessed. An absolute embarrassment of riches.
We are now retired, living in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. We passed through here on the way back to New England from dropping Leigh off at college in Georgia and fell in love with the area. It’s stunning. I never thought I could live away from the ocean but I’ve found as I’ve gotten older that the mountains are more my speed, at least here, where the winters are extremely mild! I literally cannot remember the last time I wore a coat. That’s how nice the weather is here year round. The locals may find the winter high of the 50’s or even 60’s to be cool, but not this New England girl!
I may write more here later, but that’s it for now. Thanks for stopping by.
