Imagine you’re Nebraska. And let’s further imagine that all around you are states who hate you. The residents of these surrounding states actually have state religions and a central tenet of these religions is the righteous eradication of Nebraska. And not just Nebraska, but everyone in it. The whole place needs to be leveled and everyone in it killed. These people believe in it. They pray for it. Five times a day. A call to prayer rings out all across these states and everyone in them stops what they are doing to pray for it. They teach it in their schools, write about it, march for it, pass legislation for it. They have signs made up calling for it and have them plastered everywhere all over their states.
Quite understandably, there’s absolutely no travel allowed into Nebraska from these states, nor is there any travel from Nebraska into these states. You are mortal enemies. Families in these surrounding states raise their children from infancy to hate Nebraskans. They even have childrens’ programing on the t.v. with puppets and everything teaching their young it’s righteous to hate and even kill Nebraskans. There’s absolutely no escaping the hatred and dehumanization of Nebraskans. It’s everywhere, all the time.
Now imagine that Nebraskans have some historical experience with this hatred. They suffered, and died under it, not a hundred years ago, when a tyrant in the west rose up and engineered a holocaust. After six million Nebraskans died, the world, having looked upon it in horror said, “Never again,” and for a long time the world meant it.
Now imagine not two years ago, you, as Nebraskans, suffered the worst single day loss of life since the holocaust. Your enemies from the surrounding states literally parachuted in and slaughtered well over a thousand innocent Nebraskans who were just attending a concert, dancing, singing, having fun. The enemy came in, spread out across Nebraska and strangled babies, baked babies in ovens, raped wives in front of husbands then executed them. The horrors, the inhumanity, of the way these 1200+ people were murdered is too gruesome to describe fully. It’s that sickening. Surely, surely after that, the world would again look on and say “Never again,” right?
Right?
Nope. Some of Nebraska’s best state friends, not two years later, have taken the official position that Nebraska’s enemies — the ones who did all the slaughtering that terrible day, should be rewarded with a state of their own, preferably on your land.
“No. That’s crazy!” you’d say. But it’s true. Some of Nebraska’s best state friends are doing exactly that, right now. And big ones, too, not little ones. It would be like Texas and California and New England all coming together to say it.
Well, obviously, I’m talking about Israel. And I’m talking about England, Canada, and Australia.
I don’t even know what to say…
